What happened

Without AppleCare Plus, repairing the iPhone Duo’s inner display costs $999, battery service costs $229, and other damage costs $1,499.

With AppleCare Plus, the same inner display repair is $99 and battery service is provided at no charge.

AppleCare Plus for the iPhone Duo is offered at $19.99 per month, $199.99 per year, or a $399 flat fee.

The iPhone Duo starts at $1,999, will be available on October 23, and pre‑orders begin Friday at 8 AM ET.

AIBeat analysis

This could encourage buyers to purchase AppleCare Plus, as the out‑of‑pocket cost of a $999 display repair without coverage is substantially higher than the $99 AppleCare Plus repair fee, making the monthly or annual plan a potentially cost‑effective safeguard.
