Nintendo is celebrating the first annual Pikmin Day on November 1, 2026 by debuting a new series of short films called Hello! Pikmin. The series launches with its second episode on the day of the event and will add a third episode later in November followed by a new short each month starting in December.
Shigeru Miyamoto used the Pikmin Day Direct to reveal new details about Pikmin 4 for the upcoming Switch 2, including the ability for players to issue voice commands to the space dog Oatchi using the console’s built‑in microphone. He also announced a Dandori Academy mode that will test player skills through specific challenges, and said limited tests for the game will run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with leaderboards for participants.
In addition to the new shorts, Miyamoto announced an update for the mobile app Pikmin Bloom that adds a feature called Secret Caves, allowing players to win treasure by battling enemies and exploring caves.
